Karen has dedicated her law practice for over 20 years to defending and managing high-stakes litigation in California and the western states, including appearing and arguing in most state and federal courts throughout California. Her litigation defense work in state and federal courts includes class actions, complex products liability, environmental, toxic torts, dietary supplement (MDL), diacetyl, benzene, food-related, Prop 65, and consumer products litigation.

Throughout her career, Karen has successfully managed and represented businesses, including Fortune 500 companies, by obtaining favorable rulings on complex dispositive and discovery motions (including the granting of numerous demurrers, discovery motions, and motions for summary judgment) and securing dismissals through creative defense strategies. She has extensive experience in law and motion practice, including appellate work, and in handling all phases of discovery, having taken the lead in hundreds of depositions. She has established a thorough understanding of complex scientific and medical epidemiology defenses, resulting in much success during mediation and trial.

In her free time, Karen enjoys skiing, playing tennis, running, and fashion.
